Galloping Galápagos offers premium horseback riding experiences to Sierra Negra Volcano on Isabela Island, Galápagos. Rides are guided personally by Claudia Hodari, a certified Galápagos National Park naturalist guide and lifelong rider. The experience follows volcanic highland trails through misty landscapes, lava fields, and open caldera views, offering a relaxed and immersive way to explore Isabela’s interior.
Guests ride calm, well-trained horses with comfortable leather saddles and are carefully matched based on experience and comfort. No previous horseback riding experience is required.
Horseback Riding Experience on Isabela Island
Exploring Sierra Negra Volcano on horseback allows travelers to experience Isabela at island pace. The ride passes through green highlands, volcanic terrain shaped by recent eruptions, and scenic viewpoints overlooking the caldera and surrounding landscape.
Along the way, guests may see giant tortoises grazing in the highlands, finches among guava trees, and distant views of the Pacific Ocean. Claudia shares insights into Galápagos geology, volcanic activity, and the ecosystems of Isabela Island.

Meeting Point, Hotel Pickup & Booking
Galloping Galápagos is based at Casa Rosada in Puerto Villamil, next to the Pink Iguana Bar, where guests may meet Claudia in advance, stop by for information, or arrange their ride. On the day of the experience, hotel pickup and drop-off in Puerto Villamil are included.
All rides are booked directly with Claudia by WhatsApp. Advance contact is recommended due to limited availability.

All rides are guided personally by Claudia Hodari, a certified Galápagos National Park naturalist guide with decades of experience living and guiding on the islands. As a lifelong rider, Claudia prioritizes safety, calm pacing, and a personalized approach for each group. She is fluent in both Spanish and English.
This is not a mass tour. Each horseback ride is adapted to rider ability, weather conditions, and trail conditions on the day of the experience.
Cabalgatas a Caballo en Isabela – Galloping Galápagos
Galloping Galápagos ofrece experiencias premium de cabalgata al volcán Sierra Negra en la Isla Isabela, Galápagos. Las cabalgatas son guiadas personalmente por Claudia Hodari, guía naturalista certificada del Parque Nacional Galápagos y jinete de toda la vida.
El recorrido atraviesa senderos volcánicos de la parte alta, campos de lava y miradores naturales del cráter. Los caballos son mansos y bien entrenados, asignados cuidadosamente según la experiencia y comodidad de cada jinete. No se requiere experiencia previa.
