Choose your path: Trek to the Sulfer Mines, where steaming vents and alien landscapes give a peek into the earth’s fiery belly OR climb to the Volcán Chico lookout and the vast Sierra Negra crater, one of the largest in the world—an unforgettable journey across lava fields and panoramic horizons.

Kayak OR Snorkel the Tíntoreras

Glide over turquoise waters past marine iguanas, penguins, and blue-footed boobies, or dive in to swim alongside white-tipped reef sharks in these volcanic islets just off the coast.

Tour the Highlands

Discover Isabela’s lush volcanic interior with a visit to the Cuevas de Sucre, a series of fascinating lava tubes formed by ancient eruptions. Explore a local family farm to see how island traditions thrive, and unwind at Campo Duro Eco Lodge, where giant tortoises roam freely through a peaceful, garden-filled sanctuary.

Visit the Tortoise Breeding Center

Walk among the gentle giants of Isabela at the Centro de Crianza Arnaldo Tupiza, where conservation efforts are helping protect and restore native tortoise populations. From tiny hatchlings to massive adults, you’ll witness the incredible life cycle of these iconic creatures up close.

Snorkel Concha de Perla

Slip into crystal-clear waters right off the boardwalk and snorkel among playful sea lions, colorful fish, and maybe even a sea turtle or two in this calm, protected lagoon.
